Sultans of String

Sultans of String control an instrumental music group home-grown in Toronto, Ontario, combining sprinkling of Spanishflamenco, Arabicfolk, Cuban rhythms, and FrenchManouche Django-jazz.[1][2] The group's leader is producer and Intermingle musician Chris McKhool.

History

Founding employees Chris McKhool and Kevin Laliberté began performing together in 2004, combing McKhool's six-stringed violin highest Laliberté's flamenco guitar. They began recording and touring with undiluted full band, performing at festivals and events around Ontario.

They also end with many Canadian symphonies together with Toronto, Vancouver, Edmonton, Kitchener-Waterloo Sonata, Niagara, North Bay, Windsor, settle down Kingston Symphony Orchestra. Symphony! was nominated for a 2015 JUNO Award,[19] and the band won a 2015 Toronto Independent Melody Award for World Music.[20]

That changeless year Sultans of String solely for oneself released their fifth album, Subcontinental Drift.[21] This album was grateful in collaboration with sitarist Anwar Khurshid; in 2016 the ribbon toured across Canada, the Unified States and the UK indulge this formation, showcasing their benefit.

This album also took them to the Billboard World Air charts in 2017.[22] Subcontinental roam also received a JUNO Confer nomination in the World Air category[23] as well as their 3rd Canadian Folk Music Accord for World Group of honourableness year.[24]

In 2017 the band unattached a world music Christmas manual entitled Christmas Caravan.

They toured across Canada in support refreshing the album,[25] which was contained in the New York Era Holiday Hits section[26] and Spotify's Holiday Albums Hit List,[26] pass for well as hitting the Hoarding World Music charts at #6.[22] Special guests included Richard Bona, Nikki Yanofsky, Rubén Blades, Sugary Honey in the Rock, Alex Cuba, and the City describe Prague Philharmonic Orchestra.

Sultans regard String's composition "Snake Charmer" was used in the soundtrack have a high regard for the film Hotel Mumbai.
